Oral and written tales about swindlers can be found in all cultures, probably inspired in real characters who lived their lives trying to earn a living. In this way in some stories the main character goes from one place to another either looking for new opportunities, which don’t exist in its homeland, or just following its desires of independence and freedom. The passivity or resignation to their poverty is never an option.

But if there is a thing that characterizes the tales presented in this book is humor. The swindlers are the irresistible comic characters who will make the readers laugh in all ridiculous situations.

In this collection readers will not only find the adaptations of popular characters such as Lazarillo de Tormes or Robin Hood but also a wide variety of stories from different cultures.
