Based in Barcelona, Editorial Juventud was founded in 1923 by José Zendrera and since its beginning, it has specialized , among others, in children's literature and the best litterature for adults. Today we celebrate 90 years and continue to attract many readers around the world thanks to our large backlist.
Editorial Juventud has a large catalogue, specialized in Adventure stories of well-known figures as
Bernard Moitessier, Ellen MacArthur, Thor Heyerdhal or Sir Francis Chichester, etc.  It was also the first publishing house to publish Stefan Zweig or Emil Ludwig in Spanish, and from the 1950's it has been one of the most important publishing house in Spain.

One of the first children's book appeared in 1925 : it was Peter Pan and Wendy  by J. Mr. Barrie, then followed Heidi , Emile and detectives , Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins , The Famous Five, The Adventures of Tintin .... Editorial Juventud has always paid a special attention to the quality of the texts as well as to the illustrations and it has selected the most famous illustrators such as Arthur Rackham, L . Atwell, Junceda Llaverias or Lola Anglada ... to name a few classics from his catalog as well as contemporary artists such as David Wiesner, Petr Horácek , Jon Klassen, Albert Asensio or Emilio Urberuaga (National Illustration Award -Spain-)
Juventud has been also one of the first publishing house to publish illustrated books for children since the 1980s and has emerged today as one of the most prestigious publishers in Spain in this sector, giving presentce to authors and illustrators of the most important worldwide. Many children's books have became little bestsellers, sold in Spain, Latin America and the United States, in Spanish.
